Harmony Hammond (b. Feb. 8, 1944, Chicago, IL) earned a B.A. in painting from the University of Minnesota in 1967. She co-founded the A.I.R. Gallery in 1972 and Heresies: A Feminist Publication of Art and Politics in 1976. Heresies's core group consisted of Joyce Kozloff, Miriam Schapiro, Joan Semmel, Lucy Lippard, Mary Beth Edelson, Nancy Spero, and Harmony Hammond.
